"Incredible Coincidence."

"Incredible Coincidence."

...Alan says, "Think back for a moment to the role that chance has played in your life. How did you meet your husband or wife? Your friends? Have any career opportunities come to you 'by chance'? Has your life developed exactly as you planned or have any curious chance encounters drastically changed it?"

The following points summarize Alan's research on synchronicity:

* Consciousness creates space, time, and matter. Synchronicity gives us the clue to the origin of reality. The artfully contrived coincidences of life are just that -- contrived by our consciousness -- as is the rest of life.

* Consciousness creates by means of chance, both at the most fundamental subatomic (quantum) level of reality and at the level of our everyday lives. At the most fundamental level of reality, ordinary cause and effect vanish, to be replaced by probabilities. Which probability is realized depends on the observing consciousness. That's how consciousness created life in the first place -- perhaps even the universe itself -- and that's how consciousness creates our lives right now. When our consciousness observes our lives right now. When our consciousness observes something, we change that something; we make the future happen.

* Consciousness is holographic; each unit of it has knowledge of the whole. Just as each cell in our body contains information about the complete body (which makes cloning a possibility), so does each human being have information about the whole universe.

* If we are made in the image of God, then our units of consciousness can accomplish in their small ways all that He can. Consciousness is Creator, and the sum total of all consciousness is the ultimate Creator. Psychic phenomena and meaningful coincidence are the very demonstration that consciousness lies outside space and time -- and indeed creates them -- as it creates our lives. The psychic events of everyday life -- the chance encounter, the lucky find, the answered prayer, the incredible coincidence -- point to an underlying principle of order in the universe. Jung said, "Synchronicity suggests that there is an inter-connection or unity of causally unrelated events, and thus postulates a unitary aspect of being."
